Classic UV low pressure lamps offer excellent efficiency. 40% of the electrical power can be converted to UVC radiation at 254nm for disinfection. If natural or synthetic quartz is used as lamp material, UV radiation at a wavelength of 185nm is emitted additionally for oxidation processes.
